Terri Dunbar, CEO, Co-Founder and Director of DCI, is an accomplished entrepreneur successful at driving business strategy, developing operational functions, managing complex corporate environments, and creating productive company cultures.

In 2005, Terri formed a real estate holding company, secured SBA financing and invested in commercial real estate. She sold the investment in 2018 and continues to provide consulting services to the new investor.  

In 2013, Terri became an Advisory Board Member to MDLabLink, LLC, which specializes in delivering high-usability healthcare IT software that facilitates sharing of data between core clinical and business units at hospitals and medical centers of all sizes. She successfully secured a trademark for MDLabLink. 

In May 2014, Terri served as Director for American Legal Outsourcing (ALO), a premier provider of proficient outsourcing solutions for legal processing work.  

Terri has a nearly 20-year banking career that started in the late 1980s with Hallmark Bank & Trust Company of Virginia. She served as Vice President/Retail Administration at Cardinal Financial Corporation in McLean, VA from July 2000 to April 2004; as VP Commercial Lending; Head of Consumer Lending; and a Business Development Officer at Heritage Bank from 1998 to July 2000. Previously, Terri served as a Banking Officer of F&M Bank from September 1994 to June 1998.  

Terri’s education includes an MBA with a concentration in Human Resource Management. Her team was awarded The Capstone award at Keller Graduate School of Management. She holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Marketing from George Mason University’s School of Business. In 1996, she graduated Top 10 in her class from the VBA School of Bank Management held at The University of Virginia’s Darden School of Business. Terri is a member of the Leadership Fairfax Class of 2004.  

Terri’s focus on community leadership has allowed her to serve and hold numerous positions in charitable and civic associations for nearly two decades. She has served as President of the Board of Directors of the McLean and Springfield chapters of Business Network International (BNI). She’s also served on various committees for the Springfield, Annandale and McLean Chambers of Commerce. Terri was Vice President of the Alumni Chapter for George Mason University’s School of Business and is a member of the CJC, a professional women’s club providing supplemental financial support to the George Mason University Early Identification Program (EIP) and Student Transition Empowerment Program (STEP).

Terri has been a Girl Scout Leader for the GSCNC since 2010 and is a lifetime member. She’s also served on various committees for the Boy Scouts of America in Fairfax. 

She is a member of various technology and engineering societies, such as IEEE Computer Society and Association for Computing Machinery (ACM), Institute of Management Accountants (IMA®). Certified Management Accountant (CMA®). Project Management Institute.

Terri is an Adjunct Professor for the School of Business at George Mason University. She utilizes a variety of technologies and instructional methodologies to keep courses fresh and engaging. She develops lesson plans, organizes materials and keeps students on-task.
